Composition in 2 Genres

For Essay #3 there were 2 genres that were presented. One of them is a poster targeting highschoolers/college students. The other was a brochure aimed audience would be to elderly people. The objective is for my audience to understand the great significance of learning music. Teaching or informing that learning a musical instrument is good for the brain, making it stronger and agile.

For the first genre is a poster, the purpose was to create something that’s very bright and attractive. By using blue and orange it made it look more appealing. Adding images like the brain and musical notes helped the reader to understand that the topic was about music plus brain. Also, with a catchy title “Feeling Dumb? Learn Music” is something not really seen in posters. It made it seem kind of contra Visal but yet informative with the bold captions as well. The information given was short but very straight forward, a poster is sometimes seen as something quick to read. The objective was to inform the audience about music but in a quicker way than a full lengthy information session.

As for the audience, this poster genre is for high school/college students. Since this generation runs with quick info like something eye catching. The poster was created to not take too long to read, quick info but also to be very straightforward. This generation seems to not like to read something that’s too long, because it’s boring or takes too much time. Therefore, by just putting the main points of the research, it would become easier to process the information.

Brochure

The second was a brochure with its purpose of all so informing the importance of learning music. But in this case, it was more informative in detail. It was aimed for elderly people in a developed way. Titled “Wanna Provent Alizhemirs” basically talking about what is Alzheimer’s and some ways to prevent it. Later on, explaining music learning is a good benefit against Alzheimer’s. It’s aimed to inform the reader of Alzheimer’s and explain how to prevent it with the usage of music.

The audience was elderly people describing music in the format of a brochure since in a way or theory elderly people like to take their time and read things out. Take pamphlets and brochures and inform themselves by taking in any information they can read. Plus, Alzheimer’s is something dealt with in the older years around the 60s so this information is very helpful for them. With that information the creation of the brochure is good including parts of the brain and breakdowns. Some parts that talked about “ Signs of Alzhemirs” , “Provention Of Alzhemirs” and its benefits. All these topics are explained in a deeper concept so that the readers (my audience) would be interpreted, mentioning how music is very helpful. Breaking down the study’s shown and which instruments show better results for the brain.
